It has been brought to my attention by members there are concerns and queries surrounding the assessment changes for PE courses.  Please complete the form found in the Course Updates section so we can raise all concerns with the SQA at the meeting this week.

Course Updates — What Questions Do We Have?

Some questions have been making way to me via various channels regarding what we are going to do to support the attainment of all learners in PE.  Due to COVID-19 and the announced ammendments to courses, there appears to be ambiguity surrounding several key aspects of the course. One notable area that is recurring is the disadvantage of some of our ‘indoor activity candidates’.  I am due to meet with the SQA this week and will be seeking clarity, can you please complete the form here:  https://forms.gle/DgcAfrLpfAgAtmpc6

Live Zoom CPD – National 5

As above, I have re-included the paragraph from the previous update on signing up for the National 5 Zoom sessions.  There have been a great number of sign ups so far please keep it going.

Following the release of the pre-recorded resources we will launch the first of our new series of live Zoom CPD sessions.  Feedback we have had from members attending some of our previous zoom sessions is, the value in being able to have a question and answer instantly with practictioners.  I would like to ask, with support from the SQA, we start with something similar to an understanding standards.  Asking confident, experienced practicitioners from all over the country to lead a series of ‘breakout’ rooms to assist all members with the ‘internal assessment’ of National 5.
